Take Your Time
I said it’s fine, “take your time”.
But I really meant, “fine take mine”.
And I can’t give you more than that.
Because time is the only thing I can’t get back.
I scribbled this down in my moleskin the other day, and I keep thinking about it. We use this sentiment when we are prepared for an occasion and another person is not. They apologize, usually saying they need a few more minutes, and we respond with, “take your time.” However, they are, by default, taking their time. What you are doing is now letting them have some of your finite amount of time. You are gifting them moments that can never be replaced.
The next time something/someone is holding you up/back, think about what you are giving them.
